Yolmer Sanchez, infielder for the New York Mets, signed with the Chicago White Sox in May, 2009. He played in their minor league system from 2009 through most of 2014. During that time, he had 528 hits, 80 doubles, 74 stolen bases, 192 RBIs, and 339 strikeouts to 175 walks in 497 games. Defensively, he played 250 games at second base, 192 games at shortstop, 52 games at third base, and 1 game at first base.

Sanchez joined the White Sox for 28 games in 2014. He had 25 hits and a .250 batting average in those games. He played in 120 games in 2015 and he finished with 87 hits, 23 doubles, 31 RBIs, and a .268 batting average. Defensively, at second base, he made 268 assists, 83 double plays, 229 putouts, and 5 errors in 117 games.

In 2016, Sanchez split his time between the minors and the White Sox. He batted .208 in 53 games with the White Sox.

Sanchez changed his name to his given first name, Yolmer, on February 16, 2017. He finished the 2017 season with 129 hits, 19 doubles, 12 home runs, 59 RBIs, 111 strikeouts to 35 walks, and a .267 batting average in 141 games. Defensively, he played 78 games at second base, 52 games at third base, 4 games at shortstop, and 1 game in right field.

In 2018, Sanchez batted .242 with 145 hits, 34 doubles, 14 stolen bases, 55 RBIs, and 138 strikeouts to 49 walks in 155 games. Defensively, as a third baseman in 141 games, he made 254 assists, 29 double plays, 137 putouts, and 13 errors.

Sanchez finished the 2019 season with 125 hits, 43 RBIs, 117 strikeouts to 44 walks, and a .252 batting average in 149 games. He played excellent defense and he won a Gold Glove for his work at second base. In 149 games, he made 416 assists, 108 double plays, 248 putouts, and 9 errors.

Sanchez became a free agent on December 2, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants on January 31, 2020. The Giants released him on August 21st, and he signed a minor league contract with the White Sox on August 28th. He played in just 11 games with the White Sox in 2020.

The Baltimore Orioles claimed Sanchez off waivers on October 30, 2020. He was released by the Orioles on March 30, 2021. The next day, he signed a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves. He played only in the minors in 2021.

Sanchez became a free agent on November 7, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox on February 9, 2022. He was claimed off waivers by the Mets on August 18, 2022.
