Chad Bettis, retired pitcher, was first drafted by the Houston Astros in 2007 but he opted instead for college. Three years later, he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies. He played in the Rockies' minor league system in 2010 and 2011. He missed the entire 2012 season due to a shoulder injury.
Bettis joined the Rockies starting rotation for 16 games in 2013. He pitched 44.2 innings and he had a 1-3 record and a 5.64 ERA. The following season, he pitched 24.2 innings both as a starter and as a relief pitcher for the Rockies. He had a 9.12 ERA and a 0-2 record.
As a minor league pitcher in 2010 and 2011 and parts of 2013 and 2014, Bettis pitched 355.0 innings in 72 games. During that time, he had a 24-14 record and 363 strikeouts to 92 walks.
Bettis pitched in 20 games with the Rockies in 2015. He finished the season with an 8-6 record, 98 strikeouts to 42 walks, and a 4.23 ERA in 115.0 innings.
Bettis finished the 2016 season with a 4.79 ERA in 32 games. He had 14 wins to 8 losses and 138 strikeouts to 59 walks in 186.0 innings.
Bettis spent most of the 2017 season on the DL, being treated for testicular cancer. He finished the season with a 5.05 ERA in 46.1 innings in 9 games with the Rockies.

Bettis became a free agent on October 30, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Yankees on February 16, 2020.
