Chad Billingsley, Starting Pitcher
Date of Birth: 7/29/1984

Chad Billingsley, starting pitcher, was first drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2003. He pitched in the Dodgers' minor league system from 2003 through part of 2006.
Billingsley first joined the Dodgers' starting rotation in 2006, pitching 90.0 innings in 18 games. He finished the season with a 3.80 ERA and a 7-4 record. The following season, he pitched both as a starting pitcher and as a relief pitcher. In 43 games in 2007, he had a 3.31 ERA and a 12-5 record in 147.0 innings.
Billingsley had his best season in 2008 when he was again part of the Dodgers' regular starting rotation. That season, he had career highs in innings pitched (200.2), wins (16 to 10 losses), and strikeouts (201 to 80 walks). He also had a 3.14 ERA.
In both 2009 and 2010, Billingsley had a 12-11 record. His ERA in 2009 was 4.03 and in 2010, it was an improved 3.57. After those two unimpressive seasons, he signed a three-year, $35 million contract extension with the Dodgers. He failed to impress again in 2011, finishing with a 4.21 ERA and 11-11 record in 32 games. His numbers were not much better in 2012 when he had a 3.55 ERA and a 10-9 record in 25 games.
Billingsley had Tommy John surgery after playing in just two games with the Dodgers in 2013. He followed that with elbow surgery in 2014 after pitching in only one game with the Dodgers.
On January 29, 2015, Billingsley signed a one-year contract with the Phillies. He started the 2015 season once again on the DL. After joining the Phillies in May, he pitched in 37.0 innings in 7 games and he had a 2-3 record and a 5.84 ERA.
Billingsley became a free agent on November 2, 2015. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2015.
