Cory Spangenberg, infielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2011. He played in the Padres' minor league system from 2011 through most of 2014. During that time, he batted .296 with 440 hits, 69 doubles, 28 triples, 104 stolen bases, 161 RBIs, and 310 strikeouts to 128 walks in 374 games. As a second baseman, he made 982 assists, 198 double plays, 523 putouts, and 42 errors in 347 games.
Spangenberg joined the Padres for 20 games in 2014. He had 18 hits, two of which were home runs.
