Glen Perkins, retired relief pitcher, was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 2004. He pitched in their minor league system from 2004 through most of 2007, joining the Twins for just four games in 2006 and 19 games in 2007.

In 2008, Perkins, as part of the Twins' starting rotation, pitched a career high 151.0 innings in 26 games. He finished the season with a 4.41 ERA and a career high 12 wins (to 4 losses). He was again part of the starting rotation in 2009, but he didn't pitch nearly as well. He finished the 2009 season with a 5.89 ERA and a 6-7 record in 96.1 innings in 18 games.

Perkins was moved to the Twins' bullpen in 2010. However, he spent most of the season in the minor leagues, pitching just 21.2 innings in 13 games with the Twins. In 2011, as a relief pitcher for the Twins, he pitched 61.2 innings in 65 games and he had a 2.48 ERA.

In March, 2012, Perkins signed a three-year, $10.3 million contract extension with the Twins. He became their closer in July, 2012. That season, he had 16 saves, a 2.56 ERA, and a career high 78 strikeouts (to just 16 walks) in 70 games. The following season, he had a career high 36 saves and a 2.30 ERA in 61 games.

Perkins signed a four-year extension with the Twins on March 14, 2014. He finished the 2014 season with 34 saves and a 3.65 ERA in 63 games.

As the Twins' closer in 2015, Perkins had 32 saves and a 3.32 ERA in 57.0 innings in 60 games.

Perkins spent almost all of the 2016 season on the DL with a shoulder injury. He played in just two games with the Twins.

Perkins was again on the DL in 2017, pitching just 5.2 innings in 8 games with the Twins. He didn't pitch in the Wild Card game.

Perkins became a free agent on November 2, 2017. He retired in January, 2018.
