Hector Gomez, infielder, was first signed by the Colorado Rockies in July, 2004. He played in the Rockies' minor league system from 2006 through part of 2012, joining the team for just two games in 2011.

Gomez was claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers on June 28, 2012. He continued in the minor leagues, joining the Brewers for 15 games in 2014. In nine seasons in the minor leagues (2006-2014), he had a .254 batting average with 639 hits, 136 doubles, 293 RBIs, and 525 strikeouts to 124 walks in 659 games. As a shortstop, he made 1,700 assists, 352 double plays, 936 putouts, and 134 errors in 588 games.

Gomez hit his first major league home run on May 4, 2015, off of Clayton Kershaw. He played in 66 games with the Brewers before being granted free agency on August 8, 2015. Three days later, he signed with the Padres. In his time with the Brewers, he batted .181 with 23 hits. Defensively, he played 27 games at second base, 12 games at third base, and 8 games at shortstop.

Gomez became a free agent on November 6, 2015. He didn't play professional baseball in 2016.

Gomez signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on December 12, 2016. He spent the entire 2017 season in the minors.

Gomez elected free agency on November 6, 2017. He played in the Mexican League in 2018. He played in the independent Atlantic League in 2019, and in the Caribbean League in 2020.

Gomez played in the Mexican League, Mexican Pacific Winter League, and Dominican Winter League in 2021.
