Jake Elmore, infielder, was first drafted in 2007 by the Miami Marlins but he opted instead to play baseball at Arizona State University. The following year, he was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks and he signed with them. He played in the Diamondbacks' minor league system from 2008 through part of 2012, joining the team for 30 games in 2012.

In November, 2012, Elmore was claimed off waivers by the Houston Astros. He played in 52 games with the Astros in 2013. He batted .242 with 29 hits, 4 of which were doubles and 2 were home runs.

Elmore was claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox in November, 2013. However, he never played with them. In February, 2014, he was acquired by the Oakland Athletics. He played in the Athletics' minor league system until August 2, 2014, when he was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Reds. He continued to play in the minors, joining the Reds for just five games in 2014.

As a minor league player from 2008 through 2014, Elmore had 663 hits, 131 doubles, 122 stolen bases, and 259 RBIs in 666 games. His most interesting and impressive statistic as a batter was his walks to strikeouts ratio. He had 344 strikeouts and 346 walks. Defensively, he played every fielding position, but he was primarily a second baseman. In that position, he made 1,329 assists, 287 double plays, 898 putouts, and 37 errors in 472 games.

On February 9, 2015, Elmore was signed by the Tampa Bay Rays. He finished the 2015 season with 29 hits and a .206 batting average in 51 games with the Rays. Defensively, he played at all four infield positions and in left field. He also pitched in one game.

Elmore signed with the Milwaukee Brewers on December 15, 2015. He split his time in 2016 between the minors and the Brewers. In 59 games with Milwaukee, he batted .218. Defensively, he played 3 games at second base, 4 games at third base, 14 games in left field, 2 games in center field, and 4 games in right field.

Elmore became a free agent on October 31, 2016. He signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on February 9, 2017. He spent the 2017 season in the minors.

Elmore elected free agency on November 6, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the White Sox on February 8, 2018. He spent the 2018 season in the minors.

The White Sox traded Elmore to the Pittsburgh Pirates on March 27, 2019. He spent most of the 2019 season in the minors, playing in just 20 games with the Pirates.

The Pirates released Elmore on June 9, 2020. He signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians on July 3rd. The Indians released him on September 3rd. He played only in the Dominican Winter League in 2020.

Elmore signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on June 13, 2021. He was released on August 24th. He played only in the minors in 2021.
