J.B. Shuck, outfielder, was first drafted by the Houston Astros in 2008. He played in the Astros' minor league system from 2008 through most of 2011, joining the Astros for 37 games that season. The next year, he was back in the minors for the entire season.
In November, 2012, Shuck signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels. He had a good, first full season in the major leagues in 2013, playing in 129 games with the Angels. He finished the season with 128 hits, 20 doubles, and a .293 batting average.
Shuck was traded to the Cleveland Indians on September 5, 2014. He finished the 2014 season with a .145 batting average in 22 games with the Angels and 16 games with the Indians. On November 3, 2014, he was claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox.
Shuck played in 79 games with the White Sox in 2015. He finished the season with 38 hits and a .266 batting average. Defensively, he played 10 games in left field, 11 games in center field, and 27 games in right field.
In 2016, Shuck batted .205 in 81 games with the White Sox. Defensively, as a center fielder in 60 games, he made 122 putouts and 2 errors.
Shuck became a free agent on November 7, 2016. He signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins on December 17, 2016. He spent the 2017 season in the minors.
Shuck elected free agency on November 6, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins on November 21, 2017. He played in 70 games with the Marlins in 2018, finishing with 25 hits and a .192 batting average. He also played in 51 games in the minors.
Shuck became a free agent on October 2, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates on January 30, 2019. He played in 27 games with the Pirates and in 53 games in the minors in 2019.
Shuck elected free agency on September 30, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on February 12, 2020. He was released May 31, 2020.
Shuck hasn't played professional baseball since 2019.
