J.T. Realmuto, catcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, was a top player in high school. The Miami Marlins drafted him in 2010 and he gave up a baseball scholarship to Oklahoma State University to sign with the Marlins.

Realmuto played in the Marlins' minor league system from 2010 through most of 2014. During that time, he had 421 hits, 78 doubles, 53 stolen bases, 200 RBIs, and 280 strikeouts to 147 walks in 434 games. As a catcher, he made 261 assists, 2,601 putouts, and 44 errors in 364 games. Realmuto became a free agent on October 28, 2020. He re-signed with the Phillies on January 29, 2021.
