Jung-Ho Kang, Infield

Jung-Ho Kang, infielder, played professional baseball in South Korea from 2006 through 2014. During that time, he batted .298 with 916 hits, 193 doubles, 139 home runs, 545 RBIs, and 601 strikeouts to 387 walks in 902 games. He was an excellent fielder and he won four Golden Gloves (2010, 2012-2014).

Kang signed a four-year, $11 million contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates on January 16, 2015. He played in 126 games with the Pirates in 2015. His season was ended on September 17th when he suffered a broken leg after Chris Coghlan of the Chicago Cubs slid into him at second base. He finished the season with 121 hits, 24 doubles, 15 home runs, 58 RBIs, and a .287 batting average. Defensively, he played 77 games at third base and 60 games at shortstop and he made 285 assists, 51 double plays, 104 putouts, and 14 errors.

In 2016, Kang batted .255 in 103 games with the Pirates. He finished the season with 81 hits, 19 doubles, 21 home runs, and 62 RBIs. Defensively, as the Pirates' third baseman in 92 games, he made 191 assists, 20 double plays, 49 putouts, and 16 errors.

Kang was suspended in 2017, for a 2016 DUI arrest in South Korea.

Kang spent most of the 2018 season on the DL with a left wrist sprain. He played in just three games with the Pirates.

Kang became a free agent on September 28, 2018. He re-signed with the Pirates on November 8th.

The Pirates released Kang on August 4, 2019. He spent time on the DL in 2019 with left side strain. He finished the season with 29 hits and a .169 batting average in 65 games. Defensively, he played 15 games at shortstop and 44 games at third base.

Kang hasn't played professional baseball since 2019.
