Kennys Vargas, infielder, first signed with the Minnesota Twins in February, 2009. He played in their minor league system from 2009 through part of 2014. During that time, he had 401 hits, 93 doubles, 59 home runs, 269 RBIs, and 338 strikeouts to 166 walks in 381 games. Defensively, as a first baseman, he made 138 assists, 229 double plays, 2,365 putouts, and 28 errors in 284 games. In 2011, he played in just 44 games due to a 50 game suspension for a drug violation.

Vargas joined the Twins for 53 games in 2014. He finished the season with a .274 batting average, 59 hits, 10 doubles, 9 home runs, and 38 RBIs. He hit his first major league home run on August 6, 2014.

Vargas played in 58 games with the Twins in 2015. He finished the season with 42 hits and a .240 batting average.

Vargas spent most of the 2016 season in the minors. In 47 games with the Twins, he batted .230.

Vargas batted .253 with 61 hits in 78 games in 2017. Defensively, he played 40 games at first base. He didn't play in the Wild Card game.

Vargas was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Reds on March 22, 2018. Two days later, he was reclaimed by the Twins. He spent the 2018 season in the minors.

Vargas was released on November 2, 2018. He played in Japan in 2019.

Vargas signed a minor league contract with the Detroit Tigers on January 31, 2020. He was released on July 6, 2020. He played only in the Puerto Rican Winter League in 2020.

Vargas played in the Mexican League, the Mexican Pacific Winter League, and the Puerto Rican Winter League in 2021.
