Kyle Kubitza, retired infielder, was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2011. He played in the Braves' minor league system from 2011 through 2014. During that time, he had 402 hits, 99 doubles, 29 triples, 30 home runs, 56 stolen bases, 205 RBIs, and 430 strikeouts to 254 walks in 436 games. Defensively, as a third baseman, he made 656 assists, 60 double plays, 224 putouts, and 78 errors in 363 games.
On January 8, 2015, Kubitza was traded to the Los Angeles Angels. He spent most of the 2015 season in the minor leagues, playing in just 19 games with the Angels. In 117 games in the minors, he batted .271 with 124 hits.
The Angels designated Kubitza for assignment on June 13, 2016. He was traded to the Texas Rangers on June 21st. Two months later, on August 10th, he was designated for assignment. The Braves claimed him off waivers on August 12th. He spent the entire 2016 and 2017 seasons in the minors.
Kubitza became a free agent on November 6, 2017. He retired in July, 2018.
Personal Life
Kubitza's brother Austin played in the Detroit Tigers' minor league system.
