Matt Andriese, pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, was first drafted in 2008 by the Texas Rangers but he opted instead for college. Three years later, he was drafted by the San Diego Padres. After three years in the Padres' minor league system, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in January, 2014.

Andriese played in the Rays' minor league system in 2014. As a minor league pitcher from 2011 through 2014, he pitched 484.2 innings in 94 games and he had a 37-24 win-loss record and 407 strikeouts to 125 walks.

Andriese pitched in 25 games with the Rays in 2015. He finished the season with a 3-5 record, 2 saves, 49 strikeouts to 18 walks, and a 4.11 ERA in 65.2 innings.

In 2016, Andriese had a 4.37 ERA in 19 games as a starter and 10 games in relief. He finished the season with 8 wins to 8 losses, 1 save, and 109 strikeouts to 25 walks in 127.2 innings.

Andriese spent time on the DL in 2017. He finished the season with 5 wins and 5 losses, 1 save, 76 strikeouts to 28 walks, and a 4.50 ERA in 86.0 innings in 18 games.

The Rays traded Andriese to the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 25, 2018. He finished the 2018 season with 3 wins and 7 losses, 78 strikeouts to 25 walks, and a 5.26 ERA in 27 games with the Rays and 14 games with Arizona.

Andriese played in Japan in 2022. He signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on January 30, 2023.
