Mike Foltynewicz, starting pitcher, was originally drafted by the Houston Astros in 2010. He pitched in the Astros' minor league system from 2010 through part of 2014. During that time, he had a 32-28 win-loss record, 3 saves, and 478 strikeouts to 246 walks in 116 games.

Foltynewicz joined the Astros bullpen in 2014. He pitched 18.2 innings in 22 games and he had a 5.30 ERA. On January 14, 2015, he was traded to the Atlanta Braves.
