Odubel Herrera, outfielder, was originally signed by the Texas Rangers in 2008 when he was just 16 years old. He played in the Rangers' minor league system from 2009 through 2014. During that time, he batted .294 with 683 hits, 98 doubles, 128 stolen bases, 251 RBIs, and 421 strikeouts to 197 walks in 610 games. Defensively, as a second baseman, he made 1,012 assists, 238 double plays, 742 putouts, and 63 errors in 411 games. He also played 135 games at shortstop.

Herrera was acquired by the Philadelphia Phillies in December, 2014. He had a strong first season in the major leagues in 2015, finishing with 147 hits, 30 doubles, 16 stolen bases, 41 RBIs, and a .297 batting average in 147 games. As the Phillies' center fielder in 136 games, he made 341 putouts and 5 errors and he had a .986 fielding percentage.

Herrera had another good season in 2016, finishing with a .286 batting average in 159 games. He had 167 hits, 21 doubles, 15 home runs, 25 stolen bases, and 49 RBIs. Defensively, as the Phillies' center fielder in 155 games, he made 372 putouts and 9 errors.

Herrera signed a five-year contract extension with the Phillies on December 15, 2016. The contract includes club options for 2022 and 2023. He earned his money in 2017, finishing the season with 148 hits, 42 doubles, 14 home runs, 56 RBIs, 126 strikeouts to 31 walks, and a .281 batting average in 138 games. Defensively, as the Phillies' center fielder in 133 games, he made 323 putouts and 2 errors.

Herrera finished the 2018 season with 140 hits, 19 doubles, 22 home runs, 71 RBIs, and a .255 batting average in 148 games. Defensively, as the Phillies' center fielder in 133 games, he made 294 putouts and 2 errors.

Herrera was suspended on July 5, 2019, for the rest of the season due to violation of MLB's domestic violence policy. He also spent time on the DL in 2019 with a right hamstring strain. He batted .222 in 39 games with the Phillies.

Herrera spent time on the IL. in 2021 with left ankle tendonitis. He finished the season with 117 hits, 27 doubles, 13 home runs, 51 RBIs, 77 strikeouts to 29 walks, and a .260 batting average in 124 games. As a center fielder in 104 games, he made 188 putouts and 2 errors.

Herrera became a free agent on November 5, 2021. He signed again with the Phillies on March 16, 2022. He was released on August 6th.
