Oscar Hernandez, catcher, was first signed by the Tampa Bay Rays in August, 2009. He played in the Rays' minor league system from 2010 through 2014. During that time, he had 286 hits, 53 doubles, 45 home runs, 201 RBIs, and 197 strikeouts to 109 walks in 292 games. As a catcher, he made 230 assists, 1,532 putouts, and 30 errors in 216 games. He caught players trying to steal an impressive 44 percent of the time.

Hernandez was acquired by the Arizona Diamondbacks on December 11, 2014. He started the 2015 season on the DL with a broken bone in his hand. He was activated on July 4th but he played in just 18 games with the Diamondbacks, spending the rest of the season in the minor leagues.

In 2016, Hernandez was back in the minors for most of the season, playing in just 4 games with the Diamondbacks. He spent the 2017 season in the minors.

Hernandez elected free agency on November 6, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox on January 16, 2018. He spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons in the minors.

Hernandez became a free agent on September 30, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the St. Louis Cardinals on January 7, 2020. He was released on May 27, 2020. He signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals on July 9th. He played in just four games with the Royals in 2020.

Hernandez elected free agency on October 15, 2020. He played in the Mexican League and the Venezuelan Winter League in 2021.
