Ryan Rua, outfielder, was drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2011. He played in the Rangers' minor league system from 2011 through 2014. During that time, he had 395 hits, 80 doubles, 61 home runs, 245 RBIs, and 316 strikeouts to 157 walks in 382 games. Defensively, he played 24 games at first base, 106 games at second base, 194 games at third base, 11 games at shortstop, and 27 games in left field.

Rua joined the Rangers for 28 games in 2014. He had his first major league home run on September 21, 2014. He followed that with a second home run before the season ended. In his 28 games in 2014, he had 31 hits.

In 2015, Rua again played in just 28 games with the Rangers. On July 30th, he hit an inside-the-park home run against the New York Yankees.

Rua batted .258 with 62 hits in 99 games with the Rangers in 2016. Defensively, he played 31 games at first base, 2 games at third base, 60 games in left field, 4 games in center field, and 3 games in right field. In the postseason, he had 2 hits in 3 at-bats in 1 game.

Rua spent time in the minors in 2017. In 63 games with the Rangers, he batted .217.

Rua batted .194 in 61 games with the Rangers in 2018. He spent time on the DL with back muscle spasms.

Rua became a free agent on November 2, 2018. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2018.
