Shane Greene, relief pitcher for the New York Yankees, had Tommy John surgery in 2008, while in college and prior to being drafted. The following year, he was drafted by the Yankees.
Greene pitched in the Yankees' minor league system from 2009 through part of 2014. In 120 games in the minors, he pitched 562.0 innings and he had a 29-43 record, 509 strikeouts to 222 walks, and a 4.39 ERA.
Greene was called up to the Yankees in 2014. In 15 games, he pitched 78.2 innings and he had a 5-4 record and a 3.78 ERA.
Greene was traded to the Detroit Tigers on December 5, 2014. His 2015 season ended in late August when he had shoulder surgery. He finished the season with a 4-8 record, 50 strikeouts to 27 walks, and a 6.88 ERA in 83.2 innings in 18 games.

After the season ended, he played in the Venezuelan Winter League.
Greene signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on March 16, 2022. He again elected free agency on May 22nd, and four days later, he signed a minor league contract with the Yankees.
