Shane Robinson, outfielder, was a top player in college. In 2005, he was named the Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Year. That season, he batted .427 and he had 122 hits, 25 doubles, and 49 stolen bases. Even more impressive, however, was his 40 game hitting streak.

The St. Louis Cardinals drafted Robinson in 2006. He played in their minor league system from 2006 through most of 2011. He joined the Cardinals for 11 games in 2009 and 9 games in 2011.

In 2012, Robinson played a career high 102 games with the Cardinals. During that time he had a .253 batting average and 42 hits. He didn't play any better in 99 games in 2013, finishing with a .250 batting average and 36 hits. He split his time in 2014 between the Cardinals and the minor leagues. In 47 games with the Cardinals, he batted just .150.

On December 5, 2014, Robinson signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins. He finished the 2015 season with 45 hits and a .250 batting average in 83 games with the Twins. Defensively, he played 55 games in left field, 15 games in center field, and 12 games in right field.

Robinson signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians on November 19, 2015. He was released on March 29, 2016, and he signed with the Los Angeles Angels two days later. He played in 65 games with the Angels in 2016. He batted just .173 with 17 hits.

Robinson spent most of the 2017 season in the minors, playing in just 20 games with the Angels.

Robinson became a free agent on November 3, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees on February 22, 2018. He spent most of the 2018 season in the minors and on the DL, playing in just 25 games with the Yankees.

Robinson became a free agent on October 10, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on December 21, 2018. He spent the 2019 season in the minors.

Robinson became a free agent on November 4, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves on January 22, 2020. He didn't play professional baseball in 2020.

Robinson elected free agency on November 2, 2020. He played in the Mexican League in 2021.

Personal Life

Robinson and his wife Jessica have one daughter.
