Taylor Jungmann, pitcher, was a top player at the University of Texas at Austin. In 2011, he won the Dick Howser trophy as the year's best college player. He finished his college career with a 39-9 win-loss record and a 1.85 ERA.
Jungmann was drafted in 2008 by the Los Angeles Angels but he opted instead to continue at the University of Texas. Three years later, when the Milwaukee Brewers drafted him, he signed with them. He played in the Brewers' minor league system from 2012 through 2014. During that time, he had a 33-26 record and 328 strikeouts to 180 walks in 446.0 innings in 80 games.
Jungmann pitched in 21 games with the Brewers in 2015. He finished the season with a 9-8 record, 107 strikeouts to 47 walks, and a 3.77 ERA in 119.1 innings.
Jungmann spent most of the 2016 season in the minors, pitching just 26.2 innings in 8 games with the Brewers.
In 2017, Jungmann was again primarily in the minor leagues, pitching just 0.2 innings in 1 game with the Brewers.
The Brewers released Jungmann on January 10, 2018. He played in Japan in 2018 and 2019.
Jungmann signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on February 11, 2020. He was released on June 1, 2020. He played in the independent Constellation Energy League in 2020. He didn’t play professional baseball in 2021.
