Yasmany Tomas, infielder, played in the Cuban National Series League from 2008 through 2013. As a Cuban player from 2008 through 2013, he had 247 hits, 49 doubles, 39 home runs, 151 RBIs, and 168 strikeouts to 73 walks in 272 games.

After defecting from Cuba in 2014, Tomas signed a six-year, $68.5 million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks on November 26, 2014. He hit his first major league home run on May 17, 2015. He finished the 2015 season with a .273 batting average, 111 hits, 19 doubles, 48 RBIs, and 110 strikeouts to 17 walks in 118 games. Defensively, he played 4 games at first base, 31 games at third base, 6 games in left field, and 57 games in right field.

In 2016, Tomas batted .272 in 140 games with the Diamondbacks. He finished the season with 144 hits, 30 doubles, 31 home runs and 83 RBIs. Defensively, he played 1 game at first base, 60 games in left field, and 80 games in right field.

Tomas spent time on the DL in 2017, limiting his playing time to just 47 games with the Diamondbacks. He batted .241 with 40 hits. He didn't play in the postseason.

Tomas spent the 2018 season in the minors. He spent most of the 2019 season on the DL and in the minors. He played in just 4 games with Arizona in 2019. He didn't play at all in the shortened 2020 season.

Tomas became a free agent on October 28, 2020. He signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on November 14th. He played only in the minors in 2021.

The Nationals released Tomas on November 11, 2021.
