Alex Wilson, relief pitcher, had Tommy John surgery in 2007, while in college. The following year, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs but he didn't sign with them. In 2009, he signed with the Boston Red Sox. He pitched in Boston's minor league system from 2009 through 2012.
In 2013, Wilson pitched 27.2 innings in relief for the Red Sox. He finished the season with a 4.88 ERA in 26 games. The following season, he had a 1.91 ERA in 28.1 innings in 18 games. He also pitched in 36 games in the minors in 2014.
