Ben Gamel, outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays, was drafted by the New York Yankees out of high school in 2010. He played in the minor leagues from 2010 through 2015. As a minor leaguer, he batted .284 with 605 hits, 134 doubles, 75 stolen bases, 260 RBIs, 420 strikeouts to 184 walks in 544 games. Defensively, he played 259 games in left field, 173 games in center field, and 74 games in right field and he made 936 putouts and 18 errors.

He finished the season with 84 hits, 18 doubles, 26 RBIs, 105 strikeouts to 51 walks, and a .247 batting average in 11 games with Cleveland and 111 games with Pittsburgh.
Gamel became a free agent on November 6, 2022. He signed a minor league contract with the Rays on February 23, 2023.

Gamel's older brother Mat played with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2008 through 2012.
