Blaine Hardy, relief pitcher, was first drafted in 2008 by the Kansas City Royals. On April 2, 2013, he signed with the Detroit Tigers. He pitched in the minor leagues from 2008 through part of 2014.
Hardy pitched in 38 games with the Tigers in 2014. In 39.0 innings, he struck out 31 batters and walked 20 and he had a 2.54 ERA. That season, he also pitched 47.0 innings in 20 games in the minors. He spent the entire 2015 season with the Tigers, pitching 61.1 innings in 70 games. He finished the season with a 3.08 ERA and 55 strikeouts to 22 walks.
Hardy's time was split in 2016 between the Tigers and the minors. In 21 games with Detroit, he had a 3.51 ERA, 1 win and no losses and 20 strikeouts to 12 walks in 25.2 innings.
Hardy finished the 2017 season with 1 win and no losses, 28 strikeouts to 13 walks, and a 5.94 ERA in 33.1 innings in 35 games.
Hardy pitched in 30 games in 2018. He had 4 wins and 5 losses, 1 save, 66 strikeouts to 22 walks, and a 3.56 ERA in 86.0 innings.
Hardy spent time on the DL in 2019 with a left arm flexor tendon strain. He finished the season with 1 win and 1 loss, 29 strikeouts to 13 walks, and a 4.47 ERA n 44.1 innings in 39 games.
Hardy became a free agent on October 24, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins on November 28th. He had Tommy John surgery in March and missed all of the shortened 2020 season.
Hardy elected free agency on November 2, 2020. He signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers on February 2, 2021. He spent most of the 2021 season in the minors, playing in just 1 game with the Brewers.
Hardy became a free agent on November 7, 2021.
