Brandon Finnegan, pitcher, was first drafted in 2011 by the Texas Rangers but he opted instead to attend Texas Christian University. Three years later, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals. He was traded to the Cincinnati Reds on July 26, 2015.

Finnegan pitched in the minor leagues in 2014 and 2015. In 32 games, he had a 0-10 record, 88 strikeouts to 40 walks, and a 4.27 ERA in 84.1 innings.

Finnegan pitched out of the Royals' bullpen in seven games in 2014. He again pitched out of the bullpen for the Royals in 14 games in 2015. As a Reds player, he pitched in 4 games as a starter and 2 games out of the bullpen. He finished the 2015 season with a 5-2 record, 45 strikeouts to 21 walks, and a 3.56 ERA in 48.0 innings.

In 2016, Finnegan had a 3.98 ERA in 31 games. He finished the season with 10 wins and 11 losses and 145 strikeouts to 84 walks in 172.0 innings.

Finnegan spent time on the DL in 2017, limiting his playing time with the Reds to just 4 games.

Finnegan spent most of the 2018 season in the minors, playing in just 5 games with the Reds. He spent the entire 2019 season in the minors.

Finnegan didn't play professional baseball in 2020.

Finnegan played only in the minors in 2021.

The Reds released Finnegan on November 18, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox on December 15th. He was released on August 8, 2022.
