Cesar Vargas, pitcher, was first signed by the New York Yankees in February, 2009. He pitched in the Yankees' minor league system from 2009 through 2015. In 456.1 innings in 173 games, he had a 26-19 record, 26 saves, and 431 strikeouts to 140 walks.

Vargas signed with the San Diego Padres on November 20, 2015. He spent much of the 2016 season on the DL, pitching in just 7 games with the Padres. He had a 5.03 ERA, no wins to 3 losses, and 28 strikeouts to 15 walks in 34.0 innings.

Vargas spent the 2017 season in the minors.

Vargas became a free agent on November 6, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on December 18, 2017. He spent the 2018 season in the minors.

Vargas played in the Mexican League in 2019. He played in the Mexican Pacific Winter League in both 2019 and 2020.

Vargas played in Japan and in the Mexican League in 2021.
