Cole Figueroa, infielder, was a top baseball player at the University of Florida. In 2008, he led the Florida Gators in batting average, home runs, RBIs, on base percentage, and slugging percentage.

Figueroa was first drafted in 2006 by the Toronto Blue Jays but he opted instead to play for the University of Florida. Two years later, he signed with the San Diego Padres. After three years in the Padres' minor league system, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in December, 2010. He stayed with the Rays for four years and then signed with the New York Yankees in December, 2014.

Figueroa joined the Rays for 23 games in 2014. He had 10 hits, including 2 doubles and 1 triple. In 2015, he played in just two games with the Yankees.

Figueroa signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates on December 3, 2015. He played in 23 games with the Pirates before they designated him for assignment on June 24, 2016. Four days later, he was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He stayed with the Dodgers only until July 11th. He then signed with the Miami Marlins on July 16th. However, he never played with them, being sent instead to the minors, where he finished up the 2016 season.

Figueroa became a free agent on October 10, 2016. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2016.

Personal Life

Figueroa's father Bien was a shortstop in the minor leagues from 1986 through 1996. He played in 12 games with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1992. After ending his playing career, he managed in the minor leagues from 2002 through 2008.
