Colin Rea, pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, was drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2011. He pitched in the Padres' minor league system from 2011 through part of 2015. In 123 games, he pitched 482.2 innings and he had a 3.38 ERA, 26-33 win-loss record, and 404 strikeouts to 189 walks.

Rea joined the Padres for six games in 2015. He had a 4.26 ERA and a 2-2 win-loss record in 31.2 innings.

Rea was traded to the Miami Marlins on July 29, 2016. After suffering an injury on July 30th, he was traded back to the Padres on August 1st. He finished the season with a 4.82 ERA, 5 wins to 5 losses, and 80 strikeouts to 44 walks in 19 games with the Padres and 1 games with the Marlins.

Rea had Tommy John surgery on November 10, 2016. He missed the entire 2017 season. He spent the 2018 season on the DL and in the minors.

The Padres released Rea on November 26, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs on January 10, 2019. He spent the 2019 season in the minors.

Rea pitched in nine games in 2020. He finished the season with 1 win and 1 loss, 10 strikeouts to 2 walks, and a 5.79 ERA in 14.0 innings.

The Cubs released Rea on January 4, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Brewers on August 13, 2021. He spent most of the remainder of the 2021 season in the minors, playing in just one game with the Brewers. He also played in Japan in 2021.

Rea became a free agent on November 3, 2021. He played in Japan in 2022.

Rea returned to the Brewers on a minor league contract on January 28, 2023.
