Cory Rasmus, relief pitcher, was first drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2006. He played in the Braves' minor league system in 2006 and from 2008 through part of 2013. After three games with the Braves in 2013, he was traded to the Los Angeles Angels on July 29th. He then pitched in 16 games with the Angels, finishing the season with a 4.20 ERA in 15.0 innings.

In 2014, Rasmus pitched from the Angels' starting rotation (6 games) as well as from their bullpen (24 games). He finished the season with 57 strikeouts to 17 walks and a 2.57 ERA in 56.0 innings. He pitched only as a reliever in 2015, finishing with a 5.23 ERA in 20.2 innings in 16 games. He also pitched in 10 games in the minors in 2015.

Rasmus had a 5.84 ERA in 1 game as a starter and 18 games in relief with the Angels in 2016. He had no wins and 2 losses and 17 strikeouts to 16 walks in 24.2 innings.

Rasmus became a free agent on November 15, 2016. He signed a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays on January 31, 2017. He was released on April 7, 2017. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2016.

Personal Life

Rasmus is the younger brother of outfielder Colby Rasmus. A third brother, Casey, plays in the Cardinals' minor league system. Their father played in the minor leagues for three years.
