Joey Rickard, outfielder, was first drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2012. He played in the Rays' minor league system from 2012 through 2015. In 359 games, he batted .283 with 350 hits, 76 doubles, 73 stolen bases, 149 RBIs, and 244 strikeouts to 191 walks. As an outfielder, he made 840 putouts and 15 errors in 449 games.

Rickard was claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles on December 10, 2015. He finished the 2016 season with 69 hits, 13 doubles, and a .268 batting average in 85 games with the Orioles. Defensively, he played 31 games in left field, 13 games in center field, and 51 games in right field.

In 2017, Rickard batted .241 with 63 hits in 111 games. Defensively, he played 43 games in left field, 21 games in center field, and 53 games in right field.

Rickard played in 79 games with the Orioles in 2018. He had 52 hits and a .244 batting average. He also played in 44 games in the minors.

The San Francisco Giants claimed Rickard off waivers on June 21, 2019. He finished the 2019 season with 38 hits and a .226 batting average in 42 games with the Orioles and 26 games with the Giants. He also played in 64 games in the minors.

Rickard spent most of the 2020 season on the IL with left elbow inflammation. He played in just four games with the Giants.

Rickard elected free agency on November 2, 2020. He played in the Mexican League and the Dominican Winter League in 2021.
