John Lamb, pitcher, was first drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 2008. He played in the Royals' minor league system from 2009 through 2015. In 125 games, he pitched 622.2 innings and he had a 39-39 win-loss record, 600 strikeouts to 212 walks, and a 3.67 ERA.

Lamb was traded to the Cincinnati Reds on July 26, 2015, in the trade that sent Johnny Cueto to the Royals. He pitched in 10 games for the Reds, finishing the season with a 1-5 record, 58 strikeouts to 19 walks, and a 5.80 ERA in 49.2 innings.

Lamb had back surgery during the 2015-2016 off season and he started the 2016 season on the DL. He finished the season with a 6.43 ERA in 14 games with the Reds. He had 1 win to 7 losses and 58 strikeouts to 31 walks in 70.0 innings.

The Reds traded Lamb to the Tampa Bay Rays on November 2, 2016. The Rays released him on November 18th. He signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels on December 3, 2016. He spent the 2017 season in the minors.

Lamb became a free agent on November 6, 2017. He rejoined the Angels on a minor league contract on January 22, 2018. He missed most of the 2018 season due to Tommy John surgery. In 3 games with the Angels, he had a 7.20 ERA in 10.0 innings.

Lamb became a free agent on November 2, 2018. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2018.
