Jose Peraza, outfielder for the Boston Red Sox, first signed with the Atlanta Braves in 2010. He was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 30, 2015. He played in the minor leagues from 2011 through 2015, joining the Dodgers for just seven games in 2015.

Peraza was traded to the Cincinnati Reds on December 16, 2015. He finished the 2016 season with a .324 batting average in 72 games with the Reds. He had 78 hits, 21 stolen bases, and 25 RBIs. Defensively, he played 12 games at second base, 31 games at shortstop, 8 games in left field, and 13 games in center field.

In 2017, his first full season in the majors, Peraza batted .259 in 143 games. He finished the season with 126 hits, 37 RBIs, 23 stolen bases, and 70 strikeouts to 20 walks. Defensively, he played 77 games at second base, 55 games at shortstop, and 2 games in center field.
