Mallex Smith, outfielder, was first drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2011 but he opted for college. A year later, he signed with the San Diego Padres. He was traded to the Atlanta Braves in December, 2014. He played in the minor leagues from 2012 through 2015.

Smith joined the Braves for 72 games in 2016. He finished the season with 45 hits, 16 stolen bases, 22 RBIs, and a .238 batting average. Defensively, he played 22 games in left field, 35 games in center field, and 1 game in right field. He made 122 putouts and 1 error.

The Braves traded Smith to the Seattle Mariners on January 11, 2017. Later that day, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays. Defensively, as a center fielder in 106 games, he made 61 putouts and 1 error.

Smith played in 14 games in 2020. He batted just .133.

Smith became a free agent on September 28, 2020. He signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets on November 4th. He was released on May 28, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds on June 18th. He was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays on August 14th. He spent the 2021 season in the minors.

Smith became a free agent on November 7, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays on November 29th. He was released on June 1, 2022.
