Pedro Severino, catcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, played baseball as a youth in the Dominican Republic. He became a catcher at the age of 15. He signed with the Washington Nationals in December, 2010.

Severino played in the Nationals' minor league system from 2011 through 2015, joining the Nationals for just two games in 2015. He spent most of the 2016 season back in the minors. He played in 16 games with the Nationals. He also played in the postseason, batting .100 with 1 hit in 10 at-bats in 4 games.

Severino spent most of the 2017 season in the minors, playing in just 17 games with the Nationals.

Severino played in 70 games with the Nationals in 2018, and he batted .168. As a catcher in 67 games, he made 31 assists, 534 putouts, and no errors. He caught players trying to steal 34.1% of the time. He also played in 33 games in the minors.

The Baltimore Orioles claimed Severino off waivers on March 22, 2019. He finished the 2019 season with 76 hits, 44 RBIs, 73 strikeouts to 29 walks, and a .249 batting average in 96 games. Defensively, as a catcher in 89 games, he made 29 assists, 655 putouts, and 8 errors, and he caught players trying to steal 23.6% of the time.

Severino played in 48 games in 2020. He finished the season with 40 hits, 21 RBIs, 40 strikeouts to 16 walks, and a .250 batting average. Defensively, he was the Orioles' catcher in 35 games. He was the DH in 10 games.

Severino finished the 2021 season with 94 hits, 18 doubles, 46 RBIs, 109 strikeouts to 34 walks, and a .248 batting average in 113 games. As a catcher in 109 games, he made 31 assists, 797 putouts, and 4 errors.

Severino became a free agent on November 4, 2021. He signed with the Brewers on November 29th.
