Ramon Cabrera, catcher, was first signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2008. He was traded to the Detroit Tigers in December, 2012. He then returned to the Pirates in August, 2014, when they claimed him off waivers. The Cincinnati Reds signed him on December 9, 2014.

Cabrera played in the minor leagues from 2008 through most of 2015. In 736 games, he batted .287 with 763 hits, 162 doubles, 356 RBIs, and 311 strikeouts to 276 walks. Defensively, as a catcher, he made 309 assists, 3,587 putouts, and 33 errors in 547 games. He caught players trying to steal 23% of the time and he had a .992 fielding percentage.

Cabrera played in 13 games with the Reds in 2015. He had 11 hits, including 1 double and 1 home run.

In 2016, Cabrera played in 61 games with the Reds. He batted .246 with 42 hits, 10 doubles, and 23 RBIs. Defensively, as the Reds' catcher in 48 games, he made 17 assists, 333 putouts, and 4 errors. He had a .989 fielding percentage and he caught players trying to steal 20.5% of the time.

The Reds designated Cabrera for assignment on November 28, 2016. He became a free agent on December 2, 2016. He signed a minor league contract with the Miami Marlins on January 12, 2017. He spent the 2017 season in the minors.

Cabrera became a free agent on November 6, 2017. He played in the independent Atlantic League in 2018 and 2019.

Cabrera played in the Venezuelan Winter League in 2020 and 2021.
