Ross Stripling, pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, was first drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2011 but he opted instead to play for Texas A&M. A year later, he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Stripling played in the Dodgers' minor league system in 2012, 2013, and 2015. He had Tommy John surgery in 2014 and he missed the entire season. In 55 games as a minor leaguer, he had a 2.83 ERA, a 12-10 win-loss record, and 213 strikeouts to 57 walks in 235.1 innings.

Stripling finished the 2016 season with a 3.96 ERA in 14 games as a starter and 8 games in relief with the Dodgers. He had 5 wins to 9 losses and 74 strikeouts to 30 walks in 100.0 innings. In the postseason, he pitched 4.1 innings in 5 games and he gave up 6 hits and 5 runs.
