Ryan Pressly, relief pitcher for the Houston Astros, was first drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2007. He played in Boston's minor league system from 2008 through 2012, transitioning from a starting pitcher to a reliever in 2012.
In December, 2012, Pressly was drafted by the Minnesota Twins. He pitched in 49 games for the Twins in 2013. He finished the season with a 3.87 ERA and 49 strikeouts to 27 walks in 76.2 innings. The following season, he split his time between the minors and the Twins. In 2014, he had a 2.86 ERA in 28.1 innings in 25 games with the Twins.
