Tony Zych, relief pitcher, was a closer at the University of Louisville. While at Louisville, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2008 but he didn't sign with them. However, three years later, when the Cubs drafted him again, he signed with them. On April 2, 2015, his contract was purchased by the Seattle Mariners.

Zych pitched in the minor leagues from 2011 through part of 2015. In 183 games, he pitched 228.0 innings and he had a 15-16 win-loss record, 20 saves, 199 strikeouts to 69 walks, and a 3.71 ERA.

Zych pitched in 13 games with the Mariners in 2015. In 18.1 innings, he had 24 strikeouts to just 3 walks and a 2.45 ERA.

In 2016, Zych had a 3.29 ERA in 13.2 innings in 12 games with the Mariners.

Zych finished the 2017 season with 6 wins and 3 losses, 1 save, 35 strikeouts to 21 walks, and a 2.66 ERA in 40.2 innings in 45 games.

The Mariners released Zych on March 10, 2018. He didn't play professional baseball in 2018 and 2019.

Zych signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees on February 12, 2020. He didn't play professional baseball in 2020.

Zych elected free agency on November 2, 2020. He didn't play professional baseball in 2021.
