Tyler Lyons, pitcher for the New York Yankees, was first drafted by the Yankees in 2009 but he didn't sign with them. The following year, he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals. He played in the Cardinals' minor league system in 2011 and 2012. He split his time between the Cardinals and the minors in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
From 2013 through 2015, Lyons pitched from both the Cardinals' starting rotation and from their bullpen. He started 8 games in 2013 and pitched in relief in 4 games. During that time, he had a 2-4 record and a 4.75 ERA in 53.0 innings. The following season he pitched primarily from the bullpen, starting in 4 games and coming on in relief in 7 games.
