Tyler White, infielder for the New York Mets, was drafted by the Houston Astros in 2013. He played in the Astros' minor league system from 2013 through 2015. In 294 games, he batted .311 with 321 hits, and 215 RBIs. Pitchers had a difficult time striking him out - he had just 164 strikeouts to 174 walks. Defensively, as an infielder, he played 82 games at first base and 165 games at third base and he made 314 assists, 81 double plays, 761 putouts, and 34 errors.
In 2016, White batted .217 in 86 games with the Astros. He finished the season with 54 hits, 16 doubles, and 28 RBIs. Defensively, as a first baseman in 58 games, he made 25 assists, 32 double plays, 410 putouts, and 4 errors.
White spent most of the 2017 season in the minors, playing in just 22 games with the Astros.
White's time in 2018 was split between the major leagues and the minors. He played in 66 games with the Astros and he batted .276 with 58 hits, 12 doubles, 12 home runs, and 42 RBIs. In the postseason, he batted .231 with 3 hits in 13 at-bats in 8 games. During the regular season, he also played in 70 games in the minors.
The Astros traded White to the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 25, 2019. He spent time on the DL in 2019 with a right trapezius strain. He finished the season with 50 hits, 14 doubles, 78 strikeouts to 36 walks, and a .208 batting average in 71 games with the Astros and 12 games with the Dodgers.
The Dodgers released White on July 14, 2020. He then signed with a Korean team and played in the Korean Baseball Organization for the rest of the 2020 season.
White signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on December 18, 2020. He played only in the minors in 2021.
White became a free agent on November 7, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers on January 10, 2022. He was traded to the Atlanta Braves on August 16, 2022.
White became a free agent on November 10, 2022. He signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins on December 5th.
White was traded to the Mets on May 28, 2023.
