Andrew Aplin, outfielder, was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in 2009 but he opted instead to play for Arizona State University. Three years later, he signed with the Houston Astros.
Aplin played in the Astros' minor league system from 2012 through 2016. His most interesting statistic was his strikeout to walk ratio. He walked 302 times but he was struck out only 324 times.
The Astros traded Aplin to the Seattle Mariners on May 24, 2017. He spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons in the minors.
Aplin became a free agent on November 2, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks on November 12th. After 28 games in the minors, he was released on May 16, 2019. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2019.
