Ariel Miranda, starting pitcher, played professional baseball in Cuba from 2007 through 2013. After defecting from Cuba, he signed with the Baltimore Orioles on May 27, 2015. He pitched as a starting pitcher in the Orioles' minor league system in 2015.
Miranda was traded to the Seattle Mariners on July 31, 2016. He finished the 2016 season with 5 wins and 2 losses, 44 strikeouts to 18 walks, and a 3.88 ERA in 1 game as a relief pitcher with the Orioles and 11 games (10 as a starting pitcher) with the Mariners.
In 2017, Miranda pitched in 29 games as a starter and in 2 games of relief with the Mariners. He finished the season with 8 wins and 7 losses, 137 strikeouts to 63 walks, and a 5.12 ERA in 160.0 innings.
The Mariners released Miranda on July 4, 2018. He pitched in 1 game with the Mariners and in 11 games in the minors before being released.
