Arismendy Alcantara, outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds, was signed by the Chicago Cubs in 2008. He played in the Cubs' minor league system from 2009 through 2013.

Alcantara played in 70 games with the Cubs in 2014. He batted .205 with 57 hits, 11 doubles, 2 triples, and 10 home runs. He struck out 93 times and walked 17 times. Defensively, he played 25 games at second base and 48 games in center field. He spent most of the 2015 season in the minors, joining the Cubs for just 11 games.
