Brooks Pounders, relief pitcher, was first drafted in 2009 by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played in the Pirates' minor league system for three years before being traded to the Kansas City Royals in December, 2011. He continued in the minor leagues through 2015, pitching both as a starter and as a reliever. He had Tommy John surgery in 2013 and he missed most of the 2014 season.
In 2016, Pounders joined the Royals for 13 games. He struggled in those games, ending with a 9.24 ERA in 12.2 innings. He also pitched 80.1 innings in 31 games in the minors.
Pounders was traded to the Los Angeles Angels on December 1, 2016. He spent most of the 2017 season in the minors, pitching just 10.1 innings in 11 games with the Angels.
Pounders became a free agent on November 6, 2017. He signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies on December 5th. He spent much of the 2018 season in the minors, pitching just 15.1 innings in 14 games with the Rockies. He had a 7.63 ERA.
Pounders elected free agency on October 9, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians on December 22, 2018. He was traded to the New York Mets on June 15, 2019. He spent most of the 2019 season in the minors, pitching just 7.1 innings in 7 games with the Mets.
Pounders became a free agent on September 30, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays on February 15, 2020. He was released on May 27, 2020. He didn't play professional baseball in 2020.
Pounders signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners on May 7, 2021. After spending time on the IL and playing in just three games in the minors, he was released on September 20th.

Pounders' father, Brad, played for five years in the San Diego Padres' minor league system.
