Chad Pinder, infielder, was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 2013. He played in their minor league system from 2013 through most of 2016. In 2015, he was named the Texas League (Shortstop) Player of the Year.

Pinder joined the Athletics for 22 games in 2016. He batted .235 with 12 hits. He also played in 107 games in the minors.

Pinder played in 87 games with the Athletics in 2017. He finished the season with 67 hits, 15 doubles, 15 home runs, 42 RBIs, 92 strikeouts to 18 walks, and a .238 batting average. Defensively, he played 16 games at second base, 22 games at shortstop, 2 games in left field, 7 games in center field, and 35 games in right field.

Pinder spent time on the DL in 2018. In 110 games with the Athletics, he had 77 hits, 12 doubles, 13 home runs, 27 RBIs, 88 strikeouts to 27 walks, and a .258 batting average. Defensively, he played at all infield and outfield positions.

Pinder finished the 2019 season with 82 hits, 21 doubles, 47 RBIs, 88 strikeouts to 20 walks, and a .240 batting average in 124 games. Defensively, he again played at all infield and outfield positions. He didn't play in the postseason.

Pinder played in 24 games in 2020. He had a .232 batting average.

Pinder spent time on the IL in 2021 with a sprained knee and a hamstring strain. He finished the season with 52 hits and a .243 batting average in 75 games.

Pinder became a free agent on November 6, 2022. He signed a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds on February 1, 2023, and he was released on March 24th. Three days later, he signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals, who released him on May 5th. On May 11th, he signed a minor league contract with the Atlanta Braves, only to be released once more on May 28th.
