Charlie Tilson, outfielder, was a top player in high school. In his senior year, he was named the Illinois Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011, and he played in their minor league system from 2011 through half of 2016.
Tilson was traded to the Chicago White Sox on July 31, 2016. In his first major league game on August 2nd, he pulled a hamstring and he needed surgery that ended the season for him.
Tilson didn't play professional baseball in 2017. In 2018, he played in 41 games with the White Sox and he batted .264 with 28 hits. He also played in 67 games in the minors.
Tilson's time in 2019 was split between the majors and the minors. In 54 games with the White Sox, he batted .229 with 33 hits.
Tilson became a free agent on October 4, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates on January 31, 2020. He was released on June 9, 2020. He played with an independent league team in 2020.
Tilson started the 2021 season in the Mexican League and the independent Atlantic League. He was acquired by the Philadelphia Phillies on June 19, 2021. He played only in the minors with the Phillies.
Tilson became a free agent on November 7, 2021.
