Chase Whitley, relief pitcher, was first drafted in 2010 by the New York Yankees. He pitched in the Yankees' minor league system from 2010 through 2013.

Whitley pitched in 12 games as a starting pitcher and 12 games as a reliever with the Yankees in 2014. He finished the season with 4 wins and 3 losses, 60 strikeouts to 18 walks, and a 5.23 ERA in 75.2 innings. After just 4 games with the Yankees in 2015, he had Tommy John surgery, ending his season.

The Tampa Bay Rays claimed Whitley off waivers on November 20, 2015. He spent most of the 2016 season on the DL, recovering from his surgery. He pitched in 5 games with the Rays and he had a 2.51 ERA in 14.1 innings.

Whitley finished the 2017 season with 2 wins and 1 loss, 2 saves, 43 strikeouts to 16 walks, and a 4.08 ERA in 57.1 innings in 41 games.

The Atlanta Braves claimed Whitley off waivers on December 1, 2017. He pitched just 1.0 innings in 1 game with the Braves in 2018. He spent the rest of the season on the DL and in the minors.

Whitley became a free agent on October 15, 2018. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2018.
