Chris Beck, relief pitcher, was first drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 2009 but he opted instead to attend Georgia Southern University. Three years later, he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox. He pitched in their minor league system from 2012 through most of 2015. He was both a starting pitcher and a relief pitcher in 2012 and just a starting pitcher from 2013 through 2015.
Beck pitched 6.0 innings in 1 game as a starting pitcher with the White Sox in 2015. He spent the rest of the season in the minors. In 2016, he pitched in 25 games with the White Sox. He finished the season with 2 wins and 2 losses, 20 strikeouts to 17 walks, and a 6.39 ERA in 25.1 innings. He also pitched in 22 games in the minors.
In 2017, Beck pitched in 57 games with the White Sox. He finished the season with 2 wins and 1 loss, 42 strikeouts to 34 walks, and a 6.40 ERA in 64.2 innings.
The New York Mets claimed Beck off waivers on June 13, 2018. He finished the 2018 season with a 4.50 ERA in 34.0 innings in 14 games with the White Sox and 6 games with the Mets. He also pitched in 21 games in the minors.
Beck became a free agent on October 2, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the St. Louis Cardinals on November 27, 2018. The Cardinals released him on July 27th, 2019. He spent the 2019 season on the DL, in the minors and with an independent league team.
Beck hasn't played professional baseball since 2019.
