Corey Knebel, relief pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, was a relief pitcher/closer at the University of Texas when he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 2013. He pitched in the Tigers' minor league system in 2013 and 2014.

Knebel pitched 8.2 innings in 8 games with the Tigers in 2014 and he had a 6.23 ERA. He spent time on the DL that season, as well as pitching 45.1 innings in 34 games in the minors. He was traded to the Texas Rangers on July 23, 2014.

The Rangers traded Knebel to the Milwaukee Brewers on January 19, 2015. He pitched in a career high 48 games with the Brewers in 2015. He finished the season with a 3.22 ERA and 58 strikeouts to 17 walks in 50.1 innings. He spent time on the DL in 2016 with an oblique strain. He finished the season with 1 win to 4 losses, 2 saves, 38 strikeouts to 16 walks, and a 4.68 ERA in 32.2 innings in 35 games.

Knebel had Tommy John surgery in April, 2019. He missed the entire 2019 season.

Knebel became a free agent on November 3, 2021. He signed with the Phillies on December 1st.
