David Dahl, outfielder for the San Diego Padres, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 2012. He played in their minor league system from 2012 through 2015. He was named the rookie Pioneer League MVP in 2012, when he batted .379 with 62 hits, 22 doubles, and 57 RBIs in 67 games.

Dahl played in 63 games with the Rockies in 2016. He had an impressive 17 game hitting streak that ended on August 11th. He finished the season with 70 hits, 12 doubles, 24 RBIs, 59 strikeouts to 15 walks, and a .315 batting average. Defensively, as a left fielder, he made 65 putouts and 2 errors in 54 games. He also played in 92 games in the minors.

Dahl spent the 2017 season on the DL and in the minors.

Dahl spent time on the DL in 2018 with a right foot fracture. He played in 77 games with the Rockies and he had 68 hits, 11 doubles, 16 home runs, 48 RBIs, 68 strikeouts to 19 walks, and a .273 batting average. Defensively, he played 34 games in left field, 8 games in center field, and 30 games in right field. In the postseason, he had no hits in 11 at-bats in 3 games.

Dahl was again on the DL in 2019. He finished the season with 113 hits, 28 doubles, 15 home runs, 61 RBIs, 110 strikeouts to 28 walks, and a .302 batting average in 100 games. Defensively, he played 39 games in left field, 40 games in center field, and 24 games in right field, and he made 168 putouts and 2 errors.

Dahl spent time on the IL in 2020. He played in just 24 games and he batted .183.

Dahl elected free agency on December 2, 2020. He signed with the Texas Rangers on December 15th. He was again on the IL in 2021 with a rib cage contusion. He was released by the Rangers on August 6th. He signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers on August 17th. He finished the season with 43 hits and a .210 batting average in 63 games with the Rangers. He also played 40 games in the minors in 2021.

The Brewers released Dahl on July 11, 2022. He signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on July 22nd, and he was released on August 15th.

Dahl signed a minor league contract with the Padres on December 5, 2022.
